How does M3Data ISS work?
All M3Data ISS projects follow the same procedure listed below:
- Build Diagrams: Users first construct information flow diagrams using the M3Data ISS Data Flow Processing Studio (DFPS).
- Monitor Data: Data sources such as file systems, relational databases, web servers and many more are monitored by the M3Data Notification Layer in order to detect changes. Monitoring is setup by the user.
- Trigger Information Flow Diagram: Diagrams are automatically triggered to execute by a change detected in a monitored data source (event-triggered) or based on time (time-triggered).
- Execute Data Flow: Diagrams are executed by first extracting data from one or more data sources, then transforming the data as required and finally delivering the data to targets.
- Automate Tasks: Complex tasks such as federated searching, classification and information unification can be automated quickly and easily by the execution of multiple diagrams.
- Manage Run-time Environment: Once diagrams are deployed, the M3Data Control Layer Console (CLC) can be used to centrally manage distributed agent deployment, security setup, and debugging of the diagram in the run-time environment.
